Nuclear Engineering is the design and development of processes to extract energy from nuclear reactions and apply it to other uses. 13% of the world’s energy comes from nuclear energy, and Nuclear Engineers are very invested in the physics of atomic theory and fission. Nuclear Engineers were the ones who created the first Atomic Bomb, but they also strive to find safe ways to handle nuclear power because it is so hazardous.
